Important Medicare Reimbursement Update!

In a Department of Defense appropriations bill passed by both the US House and Senate, there is a provision to avert the SGR Medicare reimbursement fee schedule cut on January 1, 2010, by extending the 2009 conversion factor for 60 days. 

Advocacy efforts are continuing for a permanent repeal of the SGR formula and the WVSMA appreciates your help. We encourage you to continue communicating with our elected representatives in Washington.

The WVSMA also continues to advocate for resolution of the additional cuts as proposed by the new CMS fee schedule tentatively scheduled to be implemented on January 1, 2010.  We hope to hear from CMS soon that these cuts will be averted as well.
