2009 WVSMAA County Year End Reports
Dear WV County Presidents -
As I have read over your agendas for the year I am keenly aware that county presidents are indeed attuned to their alliance members as well as productive in their communities. I am impressed with the enthusiasm and energy that your leadership brings to the membership and I commend you for this. Amazingly there are only a few months left before new officers will be installed and the cycle will continue. I now look forward to installing new leaders, reading your year end reports and including them with the state booklet for this year as it too comes full circle.
For your convenience please find the county report format attachment that is available for your use in submitting your individual county year end report to the WVSMA Alliance.
Please submit your report to the WVSMAA President by March 30, 2009 so that your information can be presented in the year end state report.
Again I hope that you have had an enjoyable year. I look forward to hearing about your various projects and meetings throughout 2008-09 and perhaps taking part in the installation of your alliance officers in April/May. Please let me know dates and times so that I can plan to be available.
Also please remind your president-elect and/or health project chair(s) that there is grant money available to each alliance from the WVSMAA for a worthy community health project (to be undertaken this year and/or to begin/ continue into the upcoming year) upon submission of a brief description detailing the project.
Project description should include: What is the project about? Who will it benefit? How do you plan to implement/ promote it? Why is it pertinent to your alliance and/or the community? Would it be educational, hands on, etc.?
This information can be submitted in a brief paragraph to the WVSMAA President which will then be submitted to and considered by the WVSMAA grant committee for a dollar award as each project is deemed worthy.
Please do take advantage of this funding opportunity to help bring about awareness of an important health issue in your community.
Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you and best wishes for your continued success.
