The AMA Alliance has a fact sheet available on their web site. It states that "The Policy of the AMAA for Internet Safety for Chirlren and Youth is: The AMA Alliance supports programs that help children grow into healthy adults and encourages its 41 state Alliances and 510 county Alliances in the United States to educate parents and yourth about the risks associated with online Internet services, and also the importance of parental supervision, personal safety, and common sense." - House of Delegates, June 2002.
Statistics:
- One in five U.S. adolescents who regularly log on to the Internet say they have received an unwanted sexual solicitation via the Web. Soicitations were defined as requests to engage in sexual activities or sexual talk, or to give personal sexual information.
- One in four yourth have had an unwanted exposure in the past year to pictures of naked people or people having sex.
- About 25 percent of the youth who encountered a secual approach or solicitation told a parent. Almost 40 percent of those reporting an unwanted exposure to sexual material told a parent.

- www.ikeepsafe.org - a coalition of governors and/or first spouses, crime prevention organizations, law enforcement agencies, foundations and corporate sponsors that teaches children the importance of protecting eprsonal information and avoiding inappropriate sites on the Internet.
